Price Beat Guarantee Policy
10% Price Beat Guarantee: We will beat any comparable quote from an Australian law firm by 10% for specified defamation legal services.
- LA Lawyers Australia Pty Ltd (A.C.N. 675 707 249) trading as Allen Law, will beat any quote or estimate for certain legal work if the provision of that legal work is commensurate with that of another Australian Law Firm.
- Allen Law will beat any price by 10% in respect of the Specified Works (the Price Beat Guarantee).
- In order to qualify for the Price Beat Guarantee:
- You must provide us with a written estimate or quotation from an Australian Law Firm (the Quote);
- The type of work to be carried out the subject of the Quote must:
- Be carried out by an Australian Law Firm;
- Be commensurate in nature to that which Allen Law is to provide;
- Be a Specified Work;
- Be capable of being carried out wholly in English; and
- Not involve a Limitation Issue, or the determination of any issue involving a limitation period.
- Allen Law must reasonably be capable of carrying out the work, taking into account workload, the availability of its lawyers and the time in which it must complete the work, amongst other things.
- We may, should we wish to do so, and in our sole discretion, take reasonable steps to verify the authenticity of the Quote.
- You agree to provide reasonable assistance to us for the purposes of clause 4.

Time Limit: Any Price Beat Guarantee provided by Allen Law is only capable of acceptance for a period of 14 days from the date the estimate is given by Allen Law. A failure to fulfil the terms of that offer will result in the offer being withdrawn and lapsing by reason of effluxion of time.
- Specified Works for the purposes of the Price Beat Guarantee are as follows:
- The drafting and service or attempted service within the territorial limits of the Commonwealth of Australia of a concerns notice within the meaning of:
- Section 12A of the following acts:
- Defamation Act 2005 (NSW);
- Defamation Act 2005 (Vic);
- Defamation Act 2005 (Tas);
- Defamation Act 2005 (Qld);
- Defamation Act 2005 (SA);
- Section 124A of the Civil Law (Wrongs) Act 2002 (ACT);
- Subsection 14(2) of the Defamation Act 2005 (WA);
- Subsection 13(3) of the Defamation Act 2005 (NT);
(Collectively, the Acts)
- The drafting and service or attempted service, within the territorial limits of the Commonwealth of Australia, of:
- A response to a concerns notice; or
- A request for further and better particulars, pursuant to the Acts; or
- A response to a request for further and better particulars pursuant to the Acts; or
- An offer to make amends within the meaning of the Acts; or
- A response to any offer to make amends.
- The Price Beat Guarantee is exclusive of process server fees, postage costs, or other third-party costs which may be incurred by Allen Law, and for which you may be liable to pay to Allen Law.
- We may waive, in our sole discretion, compliance with any provision of this Price Beat Guarantee policy.
- Allen Law reserves the right to revoke this policy, and therefore its applicability, at any time, with or without any reason and without notice.
- Notwithstanding clause 10, Allen Law will honour and carry out any work the subject of a quote provided under and pursuant to this Price Beat Guarantee policy.
- The above policy does not apply to a Quote provided by Melbourne Defamation Lawyers, as Melbourne Defamation Lawyers is an affiliated business owned by LA Lawyers Australia Pty Ltd trading as Allen Law.
Definitions
Limitation Issue |
means providing the necessary instructions on a date which falls within 65 days of the expiration date of the earliest limitation period |
Australian Law Firm |
means any law firm (however constituted), which:
- (a) is within the territorial limits of the Commonwealth of Australia; and
- (b) is lawfully able to provide Legal Services within and throughout the Commonwealth of Australia.
